Note from Me
Hi, Grim N. Xie here!
Prior to this, I had always been the one on the sidelines, cheering on other writers as they took on this scary, merciless dragon of a threat: La Publishing Fatale.
Standing aside is safest, I thought, let someone else poke this dragon. I watched these writers fall many, many times, get burnt, get demoralized, only to dust themselves off and try again and again. Finally, those same writers conquered the beast with one fell swoop. I beamed as big as the winner; I couldn't be more proud.
That is until those same writers handed me the sword next and suggested I give it a try. I will confess that, at that time, I couldn't accept it. I was too afraid.
It took nine years for me to finally collect enough courage, to scoop up that sword and shield, to want to step up and take my turn. The dragon still looks insurmountable behind the visor, but I'm determined to honor two words spoken by a good friend: Don't hide. The world can't see you if it doesn't know you're there. Don't hide has been my mantra since.
So here I am, Dragon. Let's see what you've got.
